KATHMANDU, Oct 24: The brother of late singer Neetu Poudel has filed a police complaint against musician Babul Giri, accusing him of abetment to suicide following her death from a self-immolation attempt.
Ganesh Poudel lodged the complaint at the Kathmandu Police Range, alleging that Giri encouraged or drove his sister to take the extreme step. Police confirmed that the complaint is currently being processed.

Neetu Poudel, 30, died at 8:30 AM on Friday while undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital. She had suffered severe burn injuries after setting herself on fire inside a music studio in Anamnagar last Saturday.
Police said Poudel poured petrol over herself before igniting it inside the studio belonging to Giri. Another man, Dhan Bahadur Giri, who tried to intervene during the incident, was also injured and remains under treatment.
Authorities stated that investigations are ongoing to determine what led to the act. CCTV footage from the studio area is being examined, and statements from witnesses are being taken as part of the probe.
Police say they are looking into all possible angles behind the incident, and additional details will be made public as the investigation moves forward.
