KATHMANDU, May 27: The hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces are likely to remain partly cloudy this afternoon, while the Tarai belts are expected to witness mainly fair weather, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
However, the Division has forecast light to moderate rain coupled with thunder and lightning in a few places of the hilly and mountainous areas in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Similar weather conditions are likely at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas in Lumbini Province and at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions in Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
Weather forecast: Moderate rainfall, hotter days
Light snowfall is also possible in some high-altitude areas, the division said.
The southern plains of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces are witnessing hotter days.
Similarly, a few places in the Tarai belts of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and Madhesh Province are likely to witness storms, informed the Division.
Currently, Nepal is experiencing the impacts of westerly wind and local wind, while a low-pressure belt is near the eastern part of the country.
The weather system triggered rainfall accompanied by strong winds in various parts of the country, including Kathmandu, on Tuesday.
