RSP’s Sudan Gurung wins Gorkha-1 seat

KATHMANDU, March 9: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Sudan Gurung has won the Gorkha-1 constituency under the First Past the Post (FPTP) system.



According to Election Office Information Officer Rabilal Subedi, Gurung secured 29,896 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Prem Kumar Khatri, by a margin of 14,498 votes. Khatri received 15,398 votes.

Other contenders included Hari Raj Adhikari of the Nepali Communist Party, who garnered 11,124 votes, and Ramchandra Lamichhane of CPN-UML with 3,732 votes.
