Two dead, two injured in ambulance crash in Kalikot

The ambulance, bearing registration number Karnali Province 01001 Jha 0024, was en route to Surkhet from Hima Rural Municipality in Jumla when it crashed at around 8:00 PM.

KALIKOT, April 9: Two people were killed, and two others seriously injured when an ambulance met with an accident near Mayor Khola in Khandachakra Municipality-2 of Kalikot on Wednesday night.



The ambulance, bearing registration number Karnali Province 01001 Jha 0024, was en route to Surkhet from Hima Rural Municipality in Jumla when it crashed at around 8:00 PM.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Him Bahadur Khatri, the deceased have been identified as 26-year-old ambulance driver Shakti Shahi and 32-year-old Bhimraj Adhikari, both from Hima Rural Municipality.


The injured, Lokendra Shahi and Akkal Adhikari, also from the same municipality, are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Kalikot.


Police said the ambulance was carrying a patient to Surkhet at the time of the accident. A total of four people, including the driver, were on board.
