Korean culture fever on display at K-Vibe festival

The 2026 K-Vibe Festival attracted around 2,300 visitors in Kathmandu, showcasing Korean beauty, cuisine and culture while strengthening people-to-people ties between Nepal and South Korea.

KATHMANDU, June 6: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal organised the 2026 K-Vibe Festival: 'Glow and Taste' at Chhaya Center in Kathmandu on Saturday, showcasing Korean beauty, cuisine and culture to thousands of visitors.



The event brought together eight local K-beauty outlets and leading distributors, six member restaurants of the Korean Restaurant Association in Kathmandu, and three key South Korean institutions operating in Nepal — KOICA, KOPIA and the EPS Center — which work in international cooperation, agricultural development and migrant worker management.

Speaking at the event, Korean Ambassador Taeyoung Park described the festival as a meaningful platform for promoting Korean beauty and culture. He said such events serve as vibrant cultural bridges, enabling young people to connect with global trends while celebrating their own identities. He also highlighted the growing popularity of Korean culture in Nepal, including K-beauty products, K-pop, K-dramas and Korean cuisine.


The festival forms part of the global K-Vibe Festival initiative led by South Korean government agencies, including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, to promote the Korean Wave worldwide.


Visitors enjoyed a range of interactive activities, including K-beauty demonstrations, K-pop performances, K-food experiences, a Life-Cuts photo booth, Korean trivia quizzes and a Hanbok experience. Beauty enthusiasts also participated in specialised skincare consultations and K-makeup classes conducted by industry experts.


The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal has been actively promoting people-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperation through various programmes and events. Organisers said the 2026 K-Vibe Festival: 'Glow and Taste' marked another milestone in the growing cultural partnership between Nepal and South Korea, strengthening ties through shared appreciation of beauty, tradition and contemporary culture.


The festival attracted approximately 2,300 attendees, including members of the public, stakeholders and media representatives.
