KATHMANDU, April 10: The Department of Immigration (DoI) has clarified that Nepali workers leaving for foreign employment are not required to present any payment receipts at the airport, apart from their labour approval document.
The clarification comes after a notice issued by the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) on April 6 created confusion among migrant workers.

Earlier, the DoFE had stated that Nepali workers must present receipts and other documents while departing through the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport.
However, the DoI said that, apart from the labour approval and passport, no additional documents or receipts are required at the immigration desk.
“Except for the labour approval issued by the Department of Foreign Employment and basic documents such as a passport, Nepali workers are not required to present any additional documents or receipts while departing Nepal,” the DoI said in a statement.
The DoI has urged citizens travelling abroad to stay well-informed about their destination and travel details and not be misled by confusion.
It added that Nepali citizens travelling on a visit visa can depart with a self-declaration if they have a passport valid for at least six months, an air ticket to the destination country, and a valid visa.
