Police complaints are now handled via phone and SMS, no visit needed

The Nepal Police has introduced a new system allowing service seekers to receive updates about their cases from home. Under the new arrangement, individuals will be informed about the progress of their registered complaints or petitions via phone calls or SMS to the contact number they provide.

KATHMANDU, April 8: Citizens no longer need to visit police stations to check the progress of complaints, petitions, grievances, or FIRs registered with the police.



The Nepal Police has introduced a new system allowing service seekers to receive updates about their cases from home. Under the new arrangement, individuals will be informed about the progress of their registered complaints or petitions via phone calls or SMS to the contact number they provide.

A public notice issued by the police states that citizens will no longer be required to physically visit police offices to inquire about the status of their cases. Police units will now provide regular updates directly to the concerned individuals.


The notice reads: “After complaints, petitions, grievances, or FIR applications are registered at Nepal Police units, the concerned service seekers will be informed about the progress and implementation of their cases via phone or SMS to the contact numbers they have provided.”
