KATHMANDU, April 3: Dol Prasad Aryal, vice chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has officially filed his candidacy for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR).
Aryal registered his nomination at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar at 11 AM on Friday.

His candidacy has been proposed by RSP Chair and lawmaker Rabi Lamichhane, and supported by lawmakers Swarnim Wagle, Sobita Gautam, and Sunil Lamsal.
The nomination window for the Speaker’s post remains open from 11 AM to 2 PM today at Room-1 of the Federal Parliament Secretariat. According to Secretary-General Padma Prasad Pandey, the final list of candidates will be published at 2:30 PM in the order of registration.
The election is expected to take place during the HoR meeting scheduled for 11 AM on Sunday, where a proposal to elect the Speaker will be presented for decision.
