KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday increased 8.97 points to close at 2,671.07 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,662.09 points and initially spiked up to the day’s low at 2,658.67 points in the first 47 minutes. The index gradually inclined to reach the day’s high at 2,681.63 points in around the last one hour. The market lost around 10 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Eight sectors witnessed incline in their average market values, with development banks adding the largest of 66.80 points. Of the five losers, hotels and tourism plunged by 121.34 points, the largest of all.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 1.51 points. The daily turnover surged to Rs 11.10 billion from Rs 8.69 billion on Wednesday.
Among the individual companies, 139 were gainers while 115 were recorded as losers. Ngadi Group Power Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 705.32 million.
Two companies including Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company and Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company Limited witnessed positive circuit breaker on the intraday transaction. Kalinchowk Darshan Limited dropped by the highest of 7.59 percent.
