KATHMANDU, June 1: MP Nishkal Rai has expressed his “note of dissent” over Prime Minister Balen’s recent statement and challenged him to provide detailed information in Parliament on which specific areas of India Nepal has allegedly encroached upon.
Speaking in the House, he said the Prime Minister must return to the parliamentary rostrum and provide an “inch-by-inch account” of where Nepal has encroached on Indian territory.
“We have a note of dissent regarding what the Prime Minister said from the sovereign parliament’s rostrum. He must again stand here and tell us exactly where Nepal has encroached on India’s border, inch by inch. We need the details. This is a matter of national pride and security. If India later demands its land back, which land will we return?” he questioned.

Rai also raised concerns that the Foreign Ministry was defending the Prime Minister’s remarks by linking the issue to cross-border matters.
“How can land encroachment be called a cross-border occupation? The Foreign Minister should understand such basic facts,” he said, adding that the Prime Minister’s statement was immature and against national interest.
He further questioned what Nepal would do if India ever demanded the return of the alleged land in question.
Rai criticized the Foreign Ministry for interpreting the issue as a “cross-border” matter and said such explanations were unacceptable, reiterating that the Prime Minister’s remarks were irresponsible and detrimental to national interest.
