Responding to a question on whether the prime minister was facing difficulty attending Parliament, he said, “If the prime minister had any difficulty, he would not have gone there in the first place. When he appeared, there were hardly any questions from the opposition—far fewer than expected.”
He added, “If needed, the prime minister will address Parliament. There is no difficulty for him in addressing Parliament, as was already evident from his recent address.”
Parliament proceedings have been repeatedly obstructed after the prime minister made remarks implying that Nepal has also encroached upon Indian land. Opposition parties have demanded that he personally appear in Parliament, withdraw his statement, and issue an apology.
During an all-party meeting, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane said Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal would respond to the issue, adding that the Prime Minister would not appear in Parliament but would answer when necessary.
