KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Nepal Police has raided a boys hostel in Kathmandu and recovered handcuffs and a baton.
Acting on a tipoff, the police on Sunday afternoon conducted a ‘sweeping operation’ at Sampada Boys Hostel ‘Block B’ in Subidhanagar, Kathmandu. Police had received information that police gear and clothes looted during the September 8 and 9 Gen Z protest were hidden in the hostel.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, officers searched Block B of the hostel at Subidhanagar and Block A situated at Prayagmarg. During the operation, police seized two handcuffs, a police baton, an APF body armour and a hard disk.
Police said the recovered items are police equipment taken during the protest. Police took hostel warden Govinda Kumar Thakur, 24, into custody for investigation.
Authorities have intensified efforts to recover looted materials and identify those involved in the incident.
